Royal Portraits: A Century of Photography

8th February 2025 - 7th September 2025

The King's Gallery

The Palace of Holyroodhouse

Edinburgh, UK

This landmark exhibition by The Royal Collection Trust is arguably the most significant showcase of royal portraits ever presented. Originally displayed in 2024 at Buckingham Palace, London, it has now found a new home at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh. It is a immense honour and privilege to have my 3D lenticular portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II featured next to royal portraits by esteemed photographers Rankin HonFRPS, Mario Testino OBE HonFRPS, Nadav Kander HonFRPS, Nick Knight CBE, and David Bailey CBE,, and in the same exhibition as Cecil Beaton, Dorothy Wilding, Lord Snowdon, Andy Warhol, Annie Leibovitz, and Hugo Burnand, to name just a few. The portrait was created under a joint creative collaboration with the designer, now artist, Chris Levine for The Jersey Heritage Trust in 2004.

.

The exhibition runs from the 28th February until the 7th September 2025.

It is not possible to appreciate the sculptural and luminous quality of Rob's work in two dimensions, such as on this website page or in an exhibition catalogue. It is highly recommended that you view the work in person.
